『시용무보』의 보태평·정대업 선율과 일무 동작 연구: 융화와 선위를 사례로

『시용무보』(時用舞譜)는 필사본 1권 1책의 무용보로, 종묘제례에 수반되는 일무의 동작과 술어(術語), 그리고 선율이 일목요연하게 기록되어 있다. 현재 종묘일무를 기록하고 있는 유일본으로 알려져 있으며, 악보에는 보태평지무와 정대업지무가 실려 있다. 그 중 《융화》에는 보태평지무의 일무동작이 모두 포함되어 있고, 《선위》는 전 악곡을 통틀어 가장 악장이 길다. 이에 두 악곡을 중심으로 내용을 살펴보았다.
선율을 『세조실록악보』(世祖實錄樂譜)와 비교해 본 결과, 출현음이 새롭게 등장하는 경우, 탈락된 경우, 음이 서로 다른 경우, 박자 배열이 다른 경우의 4가지 형태의 차이점을 보였지만 대부분의 선율진행이 동일했다. 무용동작은 규칙적인 체계를 가지고 있었는데, 융화는 단수식(單手式), 양수식(兩手式), 쌍수식(雙手式)으로 이루어져 있었고, 선위는 양수식과 쌍수식만 나타났으며 동작이 대칭을 이루어 진행되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 하지만 융화의 일무양상이 기존에 밝혀진 무절구성과는 차이를 보이는 부분이 발견되었고, 이를 다시 분류하였다. 선율에서는 일정한 규칙성은 보이지 않았으며, 동작과의 뚜렷한 관련성을 찾기 어려웠다. 본 연구에서는 시용무보의 내용을 검토하고, 융화와 선위를 사례로 일무 동작 및 선율의 체계를 살펴보았다. 그러나 전반적인 연구성과와 시의성이 부족한 것이 확인되었고, 아직 명확하게 밝혀지지 않은 사실이 남아있다. 이에 다른 악장들의 전체적인 검토와 종묘제례악이 기록되어 있는 다른 악보들과의 자세한 비교가 이루어져야 할 것으로 보았다.

Siyongmubo is a dance notation in one volume that records the movements, terminology, and rhythm of the dances that accompany the Jongmyo Ritual so that they can be viewed at a glance. It is currently known as the only dance score that includes Jongmyo Ilmu, and the music score includes Dance of Botaepyeong and Dance of Jeongdaeeop. Out of those, Yunghwa includes all movements types of Botaepyeongjimu, while Seonwi has the longest movement in the entire piece. Accordingly, I looked into the content focusing on these two songs.
When comparing the melody with the Sejo Sillok Akbo, there were four differences in the Siyongmubo: new sounds appear, sounds are omitted, sounds are different, and the beat arrangement is different; however, the melody progression was otherwise the same. The dance movements had a regular system. The Yunghwa consisted of movements with one hand, movements with both hands, and movements with both hands symmetrically, while the Seonwi only showed movements using both hands, and it could be confirmed that the movements were performed symmetrically. However, there were parts of the Yunghwa's dance movements that were different from the composition of previous studies, and those parts were reclassified. There was no apparent regularity in the melody, and it was difficult to find a clear connection with the movements. In this study, we reviewed the contents of the Shiyongmubo and examined the system of Ilmu movements and melodies using the examples of Yunghwa and Seonwi. However, it was confirmed that the overall research results and timeliness are lacking, and there are still facts that have not been clearly revealed. Therefore, it was determined that a detailed comparison with other scores containing Jongmyo Jeryeak and a Overall study of other movements were necessary.
